Istri Muda tells the story of a wealthy middle-aged man (Husband A) with a devoted first wife (Wife 1). He marries a younger woman (Wife 2) who, feeling insecure and desiring total control, consults a dukun (shaman) to cast guna-guna on the husband. The magic makes the husband neglect Wife 1, abuse her verbally, and transfer all assets to Wife 2. However, the magic begins to backfire: the husband becomes lethargic, unable to work, and paranoid. Wife 1 falls into a catatonic depression. In the climax, the guna-guna breaks when Wife 1’s family brings a more powerful kiyai (religious healer). Wife 2 is exposed and exiled; the husband suffers permanent mental damage.
