The .bin file is a binary image of the motherboard's firmware. Unlike the .exe or .cap files you download from consumer sites like ASUS or MSI, a .bin file is raw data.
If your chip runs on 1.8V (modern low-voltage chips), you must use a 1.8V adapter. The CH341A outputs 5V/3.3V which will fry a 1.8V chip.
